It's an easy process, as students are automatically enrolled to pursue their certificate upon registering for their first course. Each certificate requires a number of core courses and electives, many offered at least twice during the year and all available via flexible learning environments and locations.

Our certificates document an educated and competent workforce, which can make companies more competitive. A company's investment in employee training and development can enhance an image among clients and job candidates.

Recipients of Georgia Tech Defense Technology certificates know their field and will stand out among their peers.

"Professional certificates relating to course concentration are far more valuable than just taking a group of courses."

Participants completing courses before Sept. 1, 2006, in pursuit of a certificate can earn the certificate without an assessment in those courses. Participants not interested in earning a professional certificate need not be assessed. The form of assessment is determined by the specific course administrator.

Grades are P for pass, S for satisfactorily attended, or U for unsatisfactorily attended, and will be entered in the participant's Georgia Tech permanent record.
