Driving Directions
This facility is about 15 miles northwest of the Georgia Tech campus adjacent to the Dobbins Air Reserve Base, near Smyrna/Marietta, Ga. Travel time to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, allowing for Atlanta traffic, is estimated at 45 minutes (time could increase during peak travel times.)
From Interstate 75, exit at Windy Hill Road (exit 260). Proceed west. Cross over U.S. 41 and proceed to the stoplight at Dixie Avenue (about 2.7 miles-immediately before the railroad overpass). Turn right on Dixie Avenue and proceed north. Continue on Dixie, at the Lockheed underpass, Dixie will cross George McMillan Drive and turn into George McMillan Road. McMillan Road continues to the Naval Air Station Gate. At the Naval Air Station Gate, McMillan Road becomes Richardson Road. If you are proceeding up or down Atlanta Road, turn to go under the railroad. Turn left onto George McMillan Road and then continue on the Naval Air Station Gate, which then becomes Richardson Road. Continue onto GTRI, which will be on the right. Turn right and follow the road around to Building One. There is a small visitors' parking lot across the street from the pond. If the lot is full, park along the curb opposite the pond.
